Pushcart Prize

If you win one, it belongs in your bio. If you're nominated, no matter how many times, be silent and happy.

Yeah, I know. It's one of my pet peeves.

I should just let it go.

How are you?

How about "nominated for a National Book Award"? That's a great one.

How am I? Great!

How are you?

It's taken me six years to figure it out, but I'm good. Thanks. Oh, and I do think you should mention it in your bio if you're nominated for a National Book Award. They're a little less common than nominations for a Pushcart Prize. I mean, it's an honor to be nominated. But doesn't everybody get nominated eventually. Also, is a nomination from an ezine your friend runs the same as a nomination from Paris Review? Of course not. But no one ever says I was nominated for a Pushcart by my friend who runs an ezine.
