August is almost over.
Good-bye, August.
Exercise:
Write a poem saying farewell to August that doesn't use any details from nature (and that doesn't depend on the old "cycle of the seasons=the cycle of life" metaphor).
Now write a hello to September poem that uses a different strategy than your poem about August and still doesn't depend on the old cycle=cycle metaphor.

August is worried now. It feels strangely like it's at the end, but it doesn't know why. The weather's warm, the trees still have their leaves, but impending doom seems to be coming. August is anxious. August doesn't know what to do.
Oooooh!
Good challenge!
Great exercise. I need to try it ASAP. You are a genius at all times (like the Beat manifesto says.)
first thought, best thought.
I finished your exercises. Now, where's my prize, dude?
