Literature of the American Apocalypse

This sounds up my alley. As everyone knows, my poetry will bring on the Apocalypse. The only ones who will be saved are those who buy my books. "Ai! Donthulu, that which is dead may eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death my die!"

Quick, Donthulu, publish your books that we may live.

Hey, is it worth reading the Necromonicon? This is a great quote.

The Necromonicon is an undervalued avant garde work of poetry. Some say it was influenced by Pound, others by Stein, but I think an older, darker power is the source. If I'm not driven mad by reading it, I'll let you know more.

Google says to me that it's by Phillip K. Dick. Is that right?

The Necromnicon is a made-up black magic book that's cited in H.P. Lovecraft's stories. It's supposed to have dark knowledge about Cthulhu and the other Old Ones. I don't know if Phillip K. Dick wrote a book by that title.

No. No. You're right. For some reason in my little pea brain I sometimes say Phillip K. Dick when I mean H.P. Lovecraft. Same number of syllables divided by my IQ= name mix-up.

Ok. I'll go read Lovecraft's stories again.
